On my visit in London for Coinfair show in Bloomsbury , i came back in Greece with a legendary coin 1917 gold sovereign London mint certified by PCGS 64 ,top grade.
A true rarity , with sharp details and in brilliant condition. Only 18 are certified in MS condition with 3 of them top grade (64). If we summary all the coins that are being certified in NGC and PCGS then we realise that 20-25 coins are survived.
Why is this coin so rare?
Although the mintage was 1.014.714, in 1917 it was the last year of manufacture of the sovereign at the London mint. Due to economic issues most of these sovereigns were melted with few surviving.
Its price is around 20k in MS condition and its the dream of any sovereign collector to buy.
